Ohio Senate Regulatory Review to hold public meeting at Farm Science Review

Ohio Senate Regulatory Review to hold public meeting at Farm Science Review

If you have ever wanted the Ohio Dept. of Transportation to change their load weights, vehicle operating standards, or speed limits, or asked the Environmental Protection Agency to back off stifling requirements, or the Dept. of Natural Resources to issue more deer kill permits without success, you'll have a chance to talk with the Ohio Senate's Regulatory Review Task Force on September 16th at 9am at the white OSU tent at Farm Science Review.  The Task Force is designed to give farmers and others a chance to explain which state rules and regulations limit their ability to profit from and expand their farm or agri-business in Ohio.

Task Force Chairman Keith Faber and Vice Chair Jim Zehringer have graciously agreed to hold a hearing specifically for the agricultural community to hear our concerns.  The hearing is first come, first served, so please come early if possible and ready to speak to the Senators.  There is no need to RSVP, although I will forward names who contact me to the Senator's office.  Also serving on the panel but not attending the hearing are Sens. Capri Cafaro, Tom Niehaus, Reps. Mark Okey, Jay Goyal, Steve Reinhard, and Jim Zehringer.  The first Regulatory Reform Task Force meeting was held at the Statehouse and focused on gaining the perspective of key business groups that represent Ohio employers.   Please consider using this opportunity to make your concerns known about state regulations.
